What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small data file that is downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Differences between first-party cookies and third-party cookies

Differences between session cookies and persistent cookies

There are two types of cookies during a visit to the website. They are known as session cookies and persistent cookies.

Session cookies are set at the beginning of a visit and remain active only for the length of the visit.     - Google Doubleclick: This is a tool that uses cookies to improve advertising. That is, they target adverts according to the content and how relevant they may be to a specific user, like you. This helps us to improve the campaign performance reports and to avoid showing you ads that are not of your interest or that you have seen already.

    The ID for each DoubleClick cookie is essential for these uses. This cookie keeps a record of the ads shown to you on each browser. When it comes to placing an ad, DoubleClick can use the cookie ID of the browser to check if the ads have already been displayed.

    Cookie IDs also enable DoubleClick to log conversations related to the ad requests, such as, for example, when you see a DoubleClick ad and later, you use the same browser to visit the website of the advertiser and make a purchase from there.

    At times, the cookie contains an extra identifier that looks like the cookie ID. This identifier is used to identify advertising campaigns to which you have already been exposed as a user.
